We had the privilege of working with a talented architect to fabricate their dream staircase for their home in Somerset, in the South West of the United Kingdom.
Working with professionals is always exciting; they are very particular about what they want, and we are happy to deliver. They bring passion and inspire us when designing future projects.
The real challenge in this project was meeting the clients’ expectations. As an architect, the client had worked with numerous people in the fabrication industry. They had a clear vision and wanted a company that could help them achieve it.
The staircase had to complement the contemporary kitchen. Ensure that all the natural light entering the room wasn’t blocked but instead enhanced and nurtured.
We held numerous consultations and meetings to get this staircase just right. Communication is key in every project that we do. To fully understand what a client is trying to achieve, we have to ask questions. We’d say we smashed this collaboration (fist pump).
The client’s home had a contemporary design, so the new staircase needed to blend with the existing style. It could not stand out for the wrong reasons. Our client opted for a modern staircase design for seamless integration.
Metal can look modern on its own, but paired with other modern materials (glass, for instance), creates clean, aesthetic and innovative designs.
Glass was a perfect choice- it is a sleek and refreshing material. We installed a handrail and balustrade system made entirely from glass. The glass feature let in tons of naturals light and wasn’t as intrusive and foreboding as some materials. It created a fresh and bright atmosphere and pulled your eye without overpowering the room.
Straight runs stairs are simplistic and clean. They are fuss-free and easy on the eye; therefore, they are perfect for a modern staircase.
An open tread was the best choice (an open tread has a space between each step); it makes way for natural light making the room look bigger and brighter.
Powdercoating the steel allowed the client to have good use of the stairs. Staircases last longer if they are powder-coated, plus they get uniform colour (of your choosing).
A cool grey (anthracite) coloured powder coating on the steel treads and stringers provided a balancing effect. Grey is a colour that can inspire sophistication and a level of formality; all this tied together to create a truly modern and vogue atmosphere.
We helped create a beautiful and bespoke steel staircase that was a) usable and b) regulation compliant. Making these stairs completely functional.
We are proud to collaborate with professionals to create an item of beauty and functionality. We helped create a bespoke staircase that was regulation compliant and functional, but also fitting with the initial design brief. We strive to give our clients what they want. We provide practical fabrication at an affordable price.
